¤ Is it possible to preview a ringtone?

Yes, you can preview ringtones by pressing the Listen icon.  It's a good idea to preview your ringtones prior to ordering them to ensure that you will be happy with your purchase.  A flash plug-in is required on the computer to preview the ringtones.

¤ Does the price vary for ringtones?

Yes, prices vary (plus applicable tax).  The price is listed next to the filename.  Data transfer fees also apply for all downloaded ringtones (please refer to your plan details).  These charges will be billed to the wireless invoice.

¤ Which phone models are compatible with ringtones?

Only certain phones are capable of downloading ringtones. Currently Hawaiian Telcom supports the following data-capable mobile phones: Audiovox 8912, LG 225 and 5225, Nokia 6225 and Samsung A660.  If you are not a Hawaiian Telcom Wireless customer you will not have the ability to download ringtones from this website.

¤ How do I know what phone model I have?

Please turn off your phone, remove the battery (and memory card if applicable), and you'll see the phone model number printed on the back label of the phone.

¤ How many ringtones can I buy at one time?

You can purchase one ringtone per order.  However, you may place as many orders as you like.

¤ Does my phone have to be turned on in order for me to receive my ringtone?

Yes.  The phone must be turned on and receiving a sufficient signal.

¤ Where do I have to physically be located in order to receive ringtones?

You can receive ringtones anywhere in the Hawaiian Telcom and Sprint Wireless coverage area.  That is, anywhere you can receive a text message.

¤ Can I receive ringtones while I am using my phone?

No.  If you are talking on your phone when your ringtone is sent, we will not be able to send to your phone.  However, the network will attempt to resend the message to you for up to 72 hours.  Once you hang up, you should be able to receive your ringtones.

¤ How long will it take to receive my ringtone?

You should receive your ringtone within minutes.  Please note that sometimes there is high traffic volume in our network, which can delay the delivery of your ringtone.  Please allow 24 hours to receive your ringtone.  If you have not received your ringtone after 24 hours, please see the "What do I do if I didn't receive my ringtone?" information below.

¤ Once I activate my new phone, how soon can I download new ringtones?

You must have a Wireless Internet Data Plan associated with your wireless phone in order to download ringtones.  You may request a data feature be added to your service at the point of initial activation or any time thereafter by calling Customer Care at 808-643-3456 or by visiting one of our Retail locations.  Activation of any data plan takes about 24 hours.  After this occurs, you may successfully download a ringtone.

¤ How many ringtones can I send to my phone?

This depends on the wireless phone that you have.  Please refer to your phone's user manual to determine you phone's capacity.

Please note: Once you reach the maximum, you may still change those ringtones, however, you will have to replace a ringtone or that you have already saved with the new one.  Once a ringtone has been replaced, it will no longer be saved into your phone's memory.  We recommend that if you are purchasing several ringtones, please wait until you receive the previous tone before purchasing the next tone.

¤ Will I delete a downloaded ringtone if I restore factory settings?

No.  Restoring the factory settings will not adversely affect the items that are stored in the memory of a phone.

¤ If my phone is repaired, will I retain the downloaded ringtone?

There is always a chance that a software upgrade will be performed on a phone as a result of or in the course of a repair.  Because of this, the chance exists that items stored in memory will be deleted during a repair.

¤ What if I didn't receive my ringtone?

Please follow the steps below:
  1. Ensure that your phone is powered on and that you are receiving a strong signal.
  2. Allow 24 hours to receive your ringtone.  Sometimes there can be high traffic volume on the network, which can delay the delivery of your ringtone.
  3. 4. Check the order confirmation page to verify that your mobile phone number appears correctly.
We realize, however, that occasionally, errors may occur and you may not always receive your ringtone.  As a result, we have made special arrangements for all your orders to be available for you to re-send to your phone at no additional charge for up to 72 hours.  After 72 hours, you will need to reorder your ringtones.
